The cream of European talent, graduates of the finest conservatories.
The Karajan Academy was founded nearly fifty years ago at the Berlin Philharmonic and it trains the most talented young musicians for a future in classical music. This evening we will hear the cream of European talent, graduates of the finest conservatories, led by the bow and baton of Renaud Capuçon.
They will begin with Mozart’s Violin Concerto n°3 – possibly the most contrasted of the five -, followed by a journey through some late romanticism with Richard Strauss’ Metamorphosen for strings, a moving piece written after Munich was bombarded. As a coda, Mozart’s Symphony n°35 will end the evening with a lighter touch.
