ARCADI VOLODOS
Arcadi Volodos claims, a tad provocatively that " True virtuosity means being able to play pianissimo! ”
One of the world's most esteemed pianists, he “has the reputation for being a virtuoso conjuror, not unlike Horowitz” ( Valeurs actuelles ), with his colossal frame and broad smile. Volodos trained in the austere excellence of the Russian school and very quickly developed a passion for piano's great repertoire: Schubert , Rachmaninov and Scriabin , that he plays with a combination of power and smoothness.
He works to convey the soul's most subtle inclinations, those of Schubert's Musical moments , and his sparkling playing can also transform the colourful energy of Scriabin's Poem or his Flammes sombres – rare and magnificent pieces – not to mention his Russian imprint that reigns so elegantly over Rachmaninov's famed Preludes. A choice menu from an exceptional artist!
