Not to be missed.
The Easter Festival schedules a screening of The Kid, Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece, with the film’s score played live by the Orchestre Régional Avignon-Provence. While it is common for pianists to improvise over silent films, it is rare for an orchestra. The process demands precision, instrumental balance and flawless synchronisation.
The Swiss conductor Philippe Béran is a pioneer in the area, and with him at the helm of the Avignon-based orchestra, the audience gets to rediscover Chaplin’s work with every layer of sound and narrative figure. Not to be missed!
