A veritable breeding ground for talent !

The Berlin Philharmonic has a prestigious antechamber, the Karajan academy, a veritable breeding ground for talent, that was founded almost fifty years ago by Herbert von Karajan.

Tonight, the academy’s young soloists will perform one of the major chamber music composed in Vienna around the turn of the 19th century. The “friendly and fun” (Brigitte Massin) feel to Schubert’s Octuor, on the other hand, will provide a contrast, inspired by Beethoven’s Septuor that was immensely popular among Viennese music-lovers of the time.

Soloists from the Karajan-Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker
