Bach, Mass in B minor

Pygmalion, Raphaël Pichon

Since 2014, Raphaël Pichon has been a regular guest at the Easter Festival, and is very much at home in Aix.

Since then, the “simply essential” conductor (Le Figaro) has never failed to impress audiences, alternating concerts with large-scale religious epics, in particular Bach’s Passions. His Pygmalion ensemble, alongside a quintet of impressive singers will reveal the beauty of Bach’s Mass in B minor, a veritable musical Everest, providing the voices with an pared-down but energising instrumental sanctuary, and utterly transporting the audience.
