Concert

Génération @ Aix

Gil Shaham
Saturday 06 April - 18h00
Théâtre du Jeu de Paume
Edition 2024

As is the case every year at the Easter Festival, a group of young talented musicians will gather to perform under the aegis of a master of chamber music.

This year, recent Grammy Award winner, the violinist Gil Shaham, the internationally renowned educator and performer, takes on the role of mentor. He will be surrounded by the violinist Aubree Oliverson who made such an impression at the Festival de Verbier, viola player Karolina Errera, winner of the Yuri Bashmet competition, Ukrainian cellist Aleksey Shadrin, who came fourth place in the Queen Elisabeth Competition and pianist Federico Gad Crema, one of the most promising virtuosos of his generation. They bring us a fascinating programme including piano and string quintets by Dvorak and Shostakovich both of which offer plenty of space for the expression and virtuosity of each performer.
