Carte blanche Renaud Capuçon

Renaud Capuçon is using his “Carte Blanche” this evening to honour his favourite instrument the violin, through Bach and Vivaldi concertos with numerous soloists, accompanied by the energetic bows of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. He has purposely invited the violinists Christian Tetzlaff , James Ehnes and Alina Pogostkina to represent three generations of talent.

The unique union of these musicians promises an evening rich in emotion, alternating between the frenzy of the perpetual movements and the slower cantilenas in the Bach and Vivaldi concertos. To finish on a more serious note, the musicians of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe will play one of Richard Strauss ' last works, composed during the upheaval of his country's destruction in 1945.
