Henri Demarquette & Sequenza 9.3 - VOCELLO

Catherine Simonpietri and her ensemble Sequenza 9.3 have been defending the often ignored but nevertheless flourishing 20th century vocal repertoire for fifteen years now. The musicians are passionate about contemporary music and are committed to performing pieces that have had little exposure.

The singers and their conductor are coming together with the cellist Henri Demarquette. Together, they propose an original programme where the cello, considered to be one of the instruments closest to the human voice, blends with the voices in an enlightening to-and-fro between the music of the Renaissance (Lassus, Allegri, Morales...) and odern, contemporary pieces: works by Arensky, Gorecki and Tavener will be performed alongside a composition by Éric Tanguy.
