Tetzlaff Quartet

The quartet was founded in 1994 and has played in the greatest concert halls in Europe and the United States. The Tetzlaff Quartet is deeply invested in the baroque, classical and romantic repertoires as much as the contemporary repertoire, and they will also play Berg 's Lyric Suite , composed between 1925 and 1926. This essential quartet piece is in part a study of texture that has served a number of 20th century compositions. This autobiography of Berg is of a formidable virtuosity. Another virtuosity, but just as important, is that of Schubert 's String Quartet No. 15 , written exactly one hundred years before that of Berg. From the outset, extreme uncertainty and “Beethovian” drama flow into the piece's simmering whole. This Quartet is very long but nevertheless presents a wide variety of states as well as a symphonic aspect while also expressing the composer's real personality.
