They will be replaced by Renaud Capuçon and Frank Braley who recorded the Beethoven Sonatas with great public and critical acclaim. We apologize for the inconvenience. Maria João Pires and Augustin Dumay have been playing together since 1989. She is a discreet presence and much prefers the studio to the stage and playing together to the perilous exercise of the recital, claiming to be anything by a note-producing machine with a flawless technique; the latter is very often in Japan as a soloist or conductor and is an extrovert who wears proudly the colours of a rounded classicism. This April in Aix, we will witness this meeting of two personalities, this extraordinary union under the aegis of Beethoven, thirteen years after their memorable recording that won the prestigious music critic's prizes.
