L'enfant Oublié
The actress and director Chiara Muti and pianist David Fray explore the remarkably moving relationship between Louis XVI and his eldest child who suffered from bone tuberculosis.
The Forgotten Child, Dauphin of France and the son of Marie-Antoinette and Louis XVI, died at the age of 7, just a few days before the fall of the Bastille. Chiara Muti has always been fascinated by the tragic, little-known story of the young prince, who lived during an extremely turbulent time in French history. She wrote the script of the show and performs in it with her husband David Fray, who accompanies the narrative with pieces by Bach and French baroque music. Together, they tell the story of parents having to cope with an ill and disabled child, however privileged they may be.
