Lionel Bringuier & Renaud Capuçon
evening
Lionel Bringuier honours the Easter Festival with his presence for the first time, alongside Renaud Capuçon.
Lionel Bringuier first made his name at the age of nineteen when he triumphed at the Besançon International Competition for Young Conductors, and very early on in his career got the chance to conduct philharmonics on five continents. After a long residency in Los Angeles, he is regularly invited to conduct his home town Nice Philharmonic Orchestra.
Lauded for his vivacity, his “low-key, effective gestures” (Libération) and his infallible ear, this year, he honours the Easter Festival with his presence for the first time, alongside Renaud Capuçon. The Nice-born conductor proposes a breathtakingly lyrical programme that includes Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and Max Bruch’s Violin concerto, a piece that beautifully blends romanticism with the virtuoso energy of Eastern Europe.
