Concert

Stanislas de Barbeyrac & Michel Dalberto

Mahler, Duparc, Schumann
Saturday 09 April - 18h00
Conservatoire Darius Milhaud
Édition 2022

Two of the Aix festivals’ most prestigious guests come together for a summit meeting this year.

For personal reasons, Stéphane Degout had to cancel his recital in Aix-en-Provence. He is replaced by the young and talented tenor Stanislas de Barbeyrac.

The program is slightly modified:
Mahler, Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen - Duparc, melodies - Schumann, Dichterliebe

The first, baritone Stéphane Degout, came in 2021 for Bach’s Passion, and is one of the Aix Opera Festival’s surest tickets; the second, Michel Dalberto, is the uncontested master of Mozart and Schubert and has recorded the entire oeuvre for piano of both composers. He was slated to conduct the Génération @ Aix concert in 2020.
They present a programme of Schumann’s lieders and the French melodies of Fauré and Ropartz, in the beautiful surroundings of the Jeu de Paume, where the baritone’s “ample tone and impeccable diction” (Concertclassic) and the pianist’s “subtle and sovereign playing” (Les Échos) will thrill even the most demanding audience members.
