“Discreet artist, unmatched in Chopin, incomparable in Debussy” (Le Monde).
This year’s Génération @ Aix mentor, Nelson Goerner, is also honouring the Festival with an exceptional recital.
The Argentinian pianist, that Le Monde has referred to as a “Discreet artist, unmatched in Chopin, incomparable in Debussy”, has chosen a varied programme that showcases his poetic gift. He will begin with the naturalistic and dreamlike world of Estampes by Claude Debussy, a music of lapping water and rustling leaves, followed by three extracts from the Iberia suite by Isaac Albéniz, so evocative of his native Spain. The robust, virtuoso piano of Robert Schumann’s Symphonic Studies will bring a change of pace, while Gabriel Fauré’s Theme and variations, Op 73 will round out what promises to be a truly eclectic evening.
