Les Talens Lyriques, Christophe Rousset

Associated with the Divine Office, once celebrated on Holy Week, the Leçons de Ténèbres are at the origin of a vocal tradition that intimately blends the diverging orientations of the air de cour , a place for virtuosity and religious music characterised by humility. The genre reached its peak under Louis XIV.

Christophe Rousset , the inspired leader of Les Talens Lyriques for over twenty years and a harpsichordist of note, is tackling extracts from Charpentier and Couperin Leçons. He will be surrounded by Hélène Le Corre and Hasnaa Bennani , who are both at home in the sacred baroque repertoire.
