Concert

Concertos de Bach

Sir Andras Schiff & Cappella Andrea Barca

Sir András Schiff takes on Bach. The musicians of the Cappella Andrea Barca will accompany him in this extraordinary musical feast. Schiff enchants audiences and critics alike, his playing is clear, fusional. He knows Bach off by heart for the most part, and will perform six remarkable pieces.

While he may not have invented the genre, Bach remains one of the first composers to write piano concertos, taking his inspiration from Italian violin concertos, in particular Corelli and Vivaldi. Bach's science of instrumental writing blends with his genius for polyphony, creating intense pieces where clarity and profusion of ideas always go hand in hand.
