Concert for Gérard Poulet

For his eightieth birthday, the violinist Gérard Poulet, once a teacher at the Conservatoire de Paris, is bringing together some of his past pupils: Renaud Capuçon, Amanda Favier, Liza Kerob, Anne Gravoin, Deborah Nemtanu, etc.

On the menu for this exceptional concert is a programme composed of baroque pieces, typical of the early 18th century. Brahm's Violin sonata n° 3 , one of the composer's most important pieces for violin, will reveal it generous melodies. The concert will close with two little-known pages of Russian music that hops from raw sounds to smooth sonorities, written by Prokofiev and Shostakovich. A birthday that is sure to be unforgettable !
