London Symphony Orchestra

For the first time ever, the prestigious London Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of maestro François-Xavier Roth, has been invited to play at the Easter Festival. Along with them, Renaud Capuçon will make his Guarnerius ring out, boosting the spicy virtuosity of Béla Bartók's Violin concerto n° 2 with his energy-filled style, a genius piece of writing where the soloist alternates between gusts of ardent expressionism and lyrical melodies. As a prelude, the orchestra will play Igor Stravinsky's The Song of the Nightingale, a picturesque piece tinted with the Far East, before moving on to the iridescent textures of La Mer, Debussy's impressionist masterpiece that depicts the sun coming up over the rising tide.
