LUZERNER SINFONIEORCHESTER

JAMES GAFFIGAN & TRULS MØRK

The Lucerne Symphony , one of the oldest of the Swiss philharmonics, has been under the direction of James Gaffigan since 2011. In recent seasons, the American conductor has been invited to lead the Orchestre de Paris, the Philadelphia Orchestra or the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

The Festival is thrilled to welcome them with one of the world's greatest cellists, the Norwegian Truls Mørk. His genial playing style will exalt the romance of Elgar 's Cello Concerto , a lyrical and poetic masterpiece from the English composer. Brahms ' Symphony n° 2 and Barber's Adagio for strings will complete the programme.
