KHATIA BUNIATISHVILI & EMMANUEL PAHUD

Khatia Buniatishvili returns to the Easter Festival as part of a duo with another Aix regular, the flautist Emmanuel Pahud. The pianist, born in Georgia, is known for her fiery temperament; Emmanuel Pahud was admitted to the prestigious Berlin Philharmonic at the tender age of 22 and is a peerless flautist.
The tandem will delight audiences with a virtuoso and poetic performance of pieces from the romantics (Schubert, Schumann and Franck). To pay homage to Debussy , they will play a transcription of the fabulously impressionist Prélude. And Emmanuel Pahud will play his sensual and lyrical solo for flute, Syrinx.
