Concert

Quatuor pour la fin du Temps

Olivier Messiaen
Monday 11 April - 20h30
Camp des Milles, Aix-en-Provence
Édition 2022

For the first time ever, the Easter Festival is coming to the Camp des Milles.

No other piece but Olivier Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time could incarnate the leap of hope of a man on the edge of despair, guided. Written in a Silesian prisoner of war camp during the winter of 1941, this vast saga was first performed by his fellow prisoners playing on instruments of fortune.
This evening, the Quartet for the End of Time is performed by a four-star group, with Hélène Mercier-Arnault on the piano, Renaud Capuçon on the violin, the young cello prodigy Kian Soltani and Andreas Ottensamer, solo clarinettist at the prestigious Berlin Philharmonic and a regular at the Easter Festival.
