The 2021 Festival de Pâques, Aix-en-Provence, will be broadcast in its entirety for free online.
After the necessary cancellation of the 2020 edition due to the global pandemic, plus the uncertainty around possible future restrictions, the Festival de Pâques - under the direction of Dominique Bluzet and Renaud Capuçon, with the support of founding partner CIC - has taken the bold decision to broadcast the entire 2021 festival online and for free, in order to ensure the latest edition goes ahead.
The festival will take place as per its original dates of 27 March to 11 April, with online audiences able to enjoy two weeks of immersive digital concerts via Inlivewith. One concert per day - 16 in total - will be broadcast from the Grand Théâtre de Provence and the Théâtre du Jeu de Paume, Aix en Provence, at 20:30 CET. It will be the first time that one of France’s classical music festivals is live-streamed for free and in its entirety.
The revised line-up will be unveiled in a special live-streamed concert by the festival’s Artistic Director, Renaud Capuçon, - joined by Nicholas Angelich and Edgar Moreau - on 9 March at 19:00 CET - via the festival’s YouTube channel.
