Goldberg Variations

Alina Pogostkina, Lawrence Power & Daniel Müller-Schott

Bach's perfectly constructed Goldberg Variations , based on a slow, curved, ornamental melody supported by a descending bass, were composed around 1740. Dmitry Sitkovetsky's excellent arrangement gives the music a new resonance and a hint of extra warmth, admirably served by the spirited violinist Alina Pogostkina.

She is teaming up with viola player Lawrence Power , a renowned chamber musician, and with Daniel Müller-Schott , “cello's beautiful voice”.
