Bertrand Chamayou, The Knights
For its last concert, the New York-based ensemble The Knights comes together with Bertrand Chamayou. The pianist will tackle the music of Liszt , distilling some of his most visionary pieces where the impressionistic colours of Jeux d'eau à la villa d'Este will resonate, foreshadowing Debussy, along with the mysterious harmonies of La Lugubre gondola , in homage to Wagner.
As an ensemble that also favours a blend, The Knights revisit the Viennese repertoire with Haydn and Schubert. They will finish up the programme with contemporary music by Philip Glass and Gabriel Kahane , with hints of rock and Hollywood. A concert where excellence equates with surprise!
