Portrait Thierry Escaich
Thierry Escaich represents a generation of composers aiming to break with the avant-gardism of the post-war period and recreate the intimate link between the audience and the creative process. A trained organist and peerless improviser, he carefully carves his melodies, blending in a captivating rhythmic presence, close to that of jazz music.
Thierry Escaich has put together a programme that displays a sample of his work and also includes pieces by Saint-Saëns and Widor , emblematic of the romantic tradition of the French organ. We will also hear Debussy , performed by Claire-Marie Le Guay , and the Trio Wanderer with the Trio Vitebsk by the American composer Aaron Copland , written in 1929 based on a popular Jewish song.
