Concert

Brothers and sisters

Schumann, Brahms, Franck, Escaich

Music has been a family affair since time immemorial. Renaud Capuçon is only too aware of the sharing element in music, and each year manages every year to bring together a number of ensembles of virtuoso brothers and sisters.

The La Marca have had separate, impressive international careers, the elder on the cello and the younger on the viola. While performances by Khatia Buniatishvili have long been enjoyed by music-lovers, her older sister Gvantsa, a pianist, is less well known. The same goes for the cellist Edgar Moreau whose prodigious talent will soon no longer overshadow that of his young sister violinist Raphaëlle. Finally, the Chilemme siblings, Marie and Guillaume, complete this exceptional group of musicians who will play both Schumann and Franck, but also Thierry Escaich, a composer able to reconcile contemporary music with rhythm and melodic linearity.
