Young talents

GÉNÉRATION @ AIX

BRAHMS, MOZART

This year, like every year, Aix Easter Festival invites a myriad of young talent, winners of international competitions, to come together around an established performer, thus enjoying exposure and prestige that befits their excellence. The pianist Robert Levin is this year's sponsor of five young performers in their twenties, chosen for their exceptional potential.

Four wind instruments and one cello will join Serkin, who will transpose his personal vision of the work of chamber music masters, Mozart and Brahms , to the young prodigies. Brahms' Trio for clarinet, cello and piano, a warm , powerful work of true maturity, will bounce off Mozart's delightful, and so rarely performed, Quintet for piano and winds , a piece of intense dialogue and multicoloured sonorities.
