ALLERLIEBSTER PAPA

ROLANDO VILLAZÓN, EMMANUEL TJEKNAVORIAN, MAXIMILIAN KROMER

“A quivering tone, tight and a voice like mulled wine with cinnamon” ( Le Monde ), Rolando Villazón came to the stage with a bang in the 2000s, with comparisons with Placido Domingo.

Reinventing his art is key and the tenor has come up with an original show, associating works for violin and piano with readings of correspondence between Mozart and his father that is often rebellious, crude and funny.

The music is top shelf with Emmanuel Tjeknavorian on the violin and Maximilian Kromer on piano. These two prodigies, whose ages don't even add up to fifty, display a technicity and depth that we expect from the greats. With Villazón as narrator and master of ceremonies, they provide a new way of listening to and discovering Mozart in a more intimate setting.
