Génération @ Aix

Ravel, Fauré, Saint-Saëns

Each year, one of the high points at the Easter Festival is the Génération @ Aix concert that brings young, highly talented musicians together with a mentor. This year, for the first time, the mentor is a harpist.

In 2010, Belgian harpist Anneleen Lenaerts was the eighth woman to join the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic and is one of the most dazzling representatives of an instrument that has not received due attention at the Easter Festival so far. She will be accompanied by three particularly promising, young musicians: violinist Thomas Briant who is currently perfecting his art with Renaud Capuçon in Lausanne, and two members of the Berlin Philharmonic’s Karajan Akademie, the Spanish viola player Sara Ferrandez and the Italian flautist Alberto Navarra.
