Lucas Debargue, Ludovic Morlot
The uber-talented Lucas Debargue, the piano world’s wild card, is back at this year’s Easter Festival accompanied by the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona and Musical Director Ludovic Morlot.
Lucas Debargue’s extraordinary personality has informed his exceptional journey: only a few years after starting to take his piano training seriously, he burst onto the international scene in the 2015 Tchaikovsky competition. Since then, he has continued as a pianist, blending his interest in little-known repertoires with a sharp sense of performance and a powerful yet sensitive playing style, as well as being a composer. At Aix, he plays one of Stravinsky’s favourite pieces, Gershwin’s Concerto in F, and Ludovic Morlot conducts Ravel, Mussorgsky as well as a creation by the Barcelona composer Hèctor Parra.
