Pablo Ferrandez
“One of the world’s finest cellists”, according to Diapason Magazine, and a musician Christoph Eschenbach refers to as “the greatest talent of his generation”, Pablo Ferrández is performing at the Easter Festival for the first time this year, accompanied by pianist Luis del Valle.
Ever since it was established ten years ago when the cellist was barely twenty years old, the duo formed by Pablo Ferrández and Luis del Valle has been consistently acclaimed by the press and adored by the public. For this concert, they have chosen some of the repertoire’s non-negotiables, including Beethoven’s Cello Sonata No. 3 in A major and Brahms’ Piano Sonata No. 1 in C major. They are also playing Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei, a piece they love for its richly emotional lyricism.
