Nadine Sierra

Verdi, Gounod, Debussy…
Recital
Tuesday 7 April - 8:30 pm
Grand Théâtre de Provence

American soprano Nadine Sierra is in Aix to perform airs from the French and Latin repertoires, treating us to some of Verdi and Gounod’s most famous songs as well as rarely heard pieces from Debussy and Turina.

Nadine Sierra came to prominence at the opening ceremony at Notre-Dame de Paris in December 2024, where she gave a touching rendition of La Marseillaise – but before that, her already impressive career was well underway. She is an American singer whose musicality, technique and breathing are flawless, with high notes as powerful as they are delicate and beautifully toned low notes. She has a close relationship to France, and in particular with the Opéra de Paris. In Aix this Easter, accompanied on the piano by Bryan Wagorn, with whom she has worked closely for over ten years, she will sing some Spanish pages, but dedicates the entire first half of her recital to the French composers Gounod, Charpentier and Debussy.
