Raphaël Feuillâtre

Raphaël Feuillâtre, one of the guitar world’s rising stars is bringing his guitar to Aix this year. His programme spans everything from Couperin to Piazzolla.
Raphaël Feuillâtre was born in Djibouti but grew up in France where he learned his craft. He is barely thirty, but he started to make a name for himself around ten years ago and now performs in the biggest rooms the world over. The sheer scope of his talent is evident in his recordings as they stretch from the Baroque with Bach and Rameau to Spanish serenades, some of which he transcribed himself. For his recital in Aix, he will be playing some French and German baroque pieces, originally written for the piano (including Bach’s Concerto in D Major BWV 972, that was arranged from one of Vivaldi’s violin concertos) counterpointed by some Spanish and SouthAmerican works.
