Concert

Sophie de Bardonnèche

Lucile Boulanger, Justin Taylor
Violin Baroque music
Thursday 2 April - 6:00 pm
Théâtre du Jeu de Paume

Along with Lucile Boulanger on the viola and Justin Taylor on the harpsichord, Sophie de Bardonnèche orchestrates an entire concert around the Baroque women composers she has discovered over the course of her research.

Violinist Sophie de Bardonnèche trained at the Schola Cantorum in Basel, Switzerland and in 2015 founded a chamber music ensemble, Le Consort, with a few of her classmates, including Justin Taylor. The ensemble quickly made a name for itself in the world of historically informed performance and received a number of awards. This evening, Sophie de Bardonnèche, who also works with William Christie and his Arts Florissants ensemble, brings us pieces from Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, the bestknown woman composer on the programme, alongside others that were recorded for the very first time on her 2024 record entitled Destinées.
