Iris Scialom, Christoph Koncz
The Orchestre National de Mulhouse under conductor Christoph Koncz welcomes the rising star of the violin, Iris Scialom, for Mendelssohn’s magnificent Violin Concerto in E minor.
Aix-en-Provence audiences got a chance to hear Iris Scialom as part of the Génération @ Aix programme in 2026. At the tender age of 13, she joined the Conservatoire de Paris, going on to win numerous awards and foundation prizes, and was named “Best New Instrumental Soloist” at the 2025 Victoires de la musique. As a result, we can truly state that Iris Scialom is at the start of an absolutely brilliant career. This evening will float along on a breeze of romanticism: Mendelssohn’s Concerto No. 2, truly an archetype of the romantic concerto, will be followed by a journey from darkness into light with Beethoven’s Egmont, Op. 84 and what Tchaikovsky himself termed a tormented “musical confession”, his Symphony No. 4.
