Julie Fuchs
Julie Fuchs is not only “a force to be reckoned with on the opera stage” (Télérama) but also an artist who loves to get off the beaten track. She proves this once again with a programme, which is an ode to Paris, love and freedom.
The Avignon-born soprano has triumphed from La Scala in Milan to the Paris Opera in the greatest bel canto roles. With “Je te veux”, she takes a step aside and invites us to stroll through the bohemian and effervescent Paris of the Belle Époque. She performs with great joy cabaret songs by Aristide Bruant, a slow waltz by Erik Satie and arias by Puccini and Massenet, accompanied by a quartet of musician friends – long-standing collaborators – including accordionist Félicien Brut and pianist Alphonse Cemin. From a Montmartre cabaret to the Palais Garnier, Julie Fuchs invites us to spend a Parisian evening that is tender, funny, sparkling and virtuosic… just like her!
