Opening their second residency at the Easter Festival, the Munich Philharmonic will perform a chamber music concert that includes Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, two absolute monuments.

This concert provides a chance to highlight the female musicians of the ensemble. Naoka Aoki, who was named Konzertmeister of the orchestra in 2022, the first woman to hold the role, plays the solo parts of Vivaldi’s ultra-famous Four Seasons, a piece that literally bursts with virtuosity and evocative power. Alexandra Gruber will then play the solo in Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A major. This piece reveals the instrument’s palette of expression to the full, from light to melancholy, and is one of the cornerstones of the clarinet repertoire.
