Schubertiade 1, Trio

The members of the piano trio who are to play in the Théâtre du Jeu de Paume are closely linked. Elena Bashkirova and Michael Barenboïm are family as the former is the latter's mother. Michael is not yet thirty but has managed to make a name for himself despite the weight of his prestigious roots (his father is Daniel Barenboïm). The brilliant cellist Alisa Weilerstein , was also born into a family of musicians and has a real complicity with the Barenboïm family: the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival, where she performed with the pianist, gave a glimpse of this.

This evening of Schubert will culminate with the three players coming together for Trio n° 1 , which inspired an enthusiastic article by Schumann when he discovered it a few years after the death of the composer.
