Sol Gabetta - Il Giardino Armonico
Sol Gabetta was born in Argentina to Franco-Russian parents, studied in Madrid or in Berlin, and became a teacher at Basle's prestigious Music Academy at only 24. As a cellist she is a true musician of the world, carrying on a brilliant solo career lauded by critics for “her fascinating sonority, full of energy and movement”.
She has chosen a programme that includes five concertos written by Telemann , Bach father and son and Haendel during the first half of the 18th century in tandem with the excellent ensemble Il Giardino Armonico.
