Camerata Salzburg

Renaud Capuçon has invited the viola player Gérard Caussé, a stalwart of the Easter Festival since its inception, for a surprise-filled concert. Renaud Capuçon will swap his bow for a baton, conducting the Camerata Salzburg in two pieces from the Salzburg genius, beginning with the magnificent Serenade n ° 9 in D major (1779), in playful and jubilant mode. Then the Sinfonia Concertante, composed the same year, brings together the two soloists, Renaud Capuçon and Gérard Caussé, for a brilliant piece, inspired by the numerous symphonies with soloist that were in fashion in Paris at the time.

The concert ends on the powerful, generous notes of the Violin Concerto (1947) by the Israeli composer Paul Ben-Haim, a piece that is rarely performed in France, with a tonal, post-romantic feel.
